We are happy today to announce, as the regional partner for RealNetworks, the latest release Helix Server V14.3
Included in the new capabilities:
Flash Live Encoder(RTMP)
Helix Server now allows Flash encoders (such as Adobe Flash Media Encoder) to send live encodes to the server via RTMP. Other hardware encoders that utilize RTMP such as ViewCast Niagara and MediaExcel HERO encoders are now also supported. Not only can Helix Server receive and then send out RTMP feeds to Flash players, but the new feature also enables incoming Flash feeds to be re-packetized into RTSP or HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) iPhone/iPad links.
Support Live Archiving for H.264/AAC streams
The ability to save live streams to Helix Server has been a feature for many releases, but was restricted to only RealMedia and Mp3, but now H.264 video content with AAC audio can be archived directly on the server and played back later as an on-demand presentation.
Server Side playlists for iOS
In order to maintain cadence with Apple's updated specifications, Helix Server has been updated to function well with iOS5 devices as well as adding Server-Side Playlist support
Performance Improvement
With the new release of 14.3, Helix Server has been optimized to utilize all CPUs present within the server hardware (including multi-core support) that allows a higher load to exceed v14.2 up to 4x on a quad-core CPU.
